Darkened woods
Tranquil Wolf-sea
Flax was spun by a lovely hand
Soothing breeze
Reassuring
As tender hands of maiden clasped

For seven winters they were longing
For seven winters they had stayed
Till the call of the Darkwood Forest
Parted them for a different fate

Golden ring
Was her last gift
Before fading into the dusk
And this gift
He had treasured
Hoping she would one day return

But the king had heard of this craftsman
Sent his riders, both tall and fierce
He was seized under waning moonlight
And alas they would his ring steal

Here I am
Once free man
Now I'm trapped

Crashing waves
Lonesome Sea-place
Forced to work at the king's command
Prove his skill
At the anvil
Where he shows off his finest craft

Brightest blade by the king was taken
To his daughter he gave the ring
And the smith, he was ordered hamstrung
To prevent him from escaping

None perceived
That the blacksmith
Had been working long on a plan
To escape
This horrid island
And get his revenge upon the king

And as such he had asked the king's sons
Come tomorrow, you two alone
If you want gold, it shall be given
Tell not the maidens or household folk

And so the blacksmith watched his plan unfold
For no one could now still his vengeance withhold

From your sons endless juice will flow
I bestow this gift upon thee great king
By my craft their bare skulls will last
As goblets they will stand within thine great halls
For thy wife, gems have I devised
So that she will look always in their eyes
Teeth thee shall find, perfectly aligned
On a golden pin as a gift to thy daughter

Mocked with shame she will live to her last days
Oh can't you see this was done by your harsh ways?
For now you know the agony that I have felt
You suffer now as by your hand woe was dealt
